Free Will or Fate
It is an age-old debate, if all is pre-decided by fate, then why should we be punished? Why should we be tested to begin with? When I think about it, I don't find it all too complicated. I think for us, life is a carefully crafted blend of fate and free-will. Fate part is only to bring us to a point of decision, pre-ordained, we arrive to a juncture because we are destined to, how we deal with it, what decision we take is largely based on our god-gifted abilities of 'free-will'. And that is where we need to apply principles of morality, perimeters of faith, our sense of right and wrong and then take a decision.
No one is born good or bad, yes diversity of circumstances, peculiarities of life's choices may lead us into that direction. We in the end become a product of all the choices we make in life. Fate keeps bringing us to occasions where we are required to think for ourselves and then decide on which path to adopt. Nothing is forced, the only force we apply is our will to do whatever; right or wrong.
In my humble understanding, fate is not linear. It is like a web of billions and billions of possibilities. And every critical decision we take, actually opens a new story line for us. That story line is pre-defined, but it only comes into play, when at a certain juncture we decide to adopt a particular course.
Then there is 'redemption'. If a particular decision opens a new path way for us, we can still change the course of our fate, our pre-ordained course by seeking Divine's redemption. The only factor in our control is our own 'free-will', for fate, we just can pray that the Almighty, who has crafted our story line, makes it easier for us. Not bring us to juncture where we are required to take some really critical 'right or wrong' decision.
Well thats my take on the whole free will - fate relation...
